Aunt Marge Expresses Her Concern

December 14, 1995
Astoria, Oregon

Dear Wes,

As a Christian and being part of the family, I feel that I'm compelled to write to you and let you know that your Christmas letter upset me very much. Everything was good to hear - until your wrote about Priscilla, "Priscilla Files" and the Internet to your family and friends. What is your motive? If it was for hurting her, then it's wrong. Jesus wants us to do good for the glory of God. Not to tear people down, but to build them up.

I see no reason in sending out a "Priscilla File." If you plan to send it out, please count Brad and I out. We just don't want to be involved with letters that tear people down. Also, about the Internet: Why on earth do you want to do that? Priscilla has a right in her opinion as well as you do. It seems to me that our family needs healing and not to be in a family dispute...and hurting each other is not a way for any of us to heal by writing negative letters about family members.

Even if I felt disappointed in your letter, I do want you to knoow that I love you and I do pray that you will not write a "Priscilla File" or put her on the Internet.

Love you,
Aunt Marge

Have a very Merry Christmas and a bright and shiny New Year. Love to Tom.
