Wes' Sister Writes Priscilla

Dear Aunt Priscilla,

When we had our first discussion, I believed that your motivation was a positive one, although I belived it to be misguided. I can no longer say that I believe you to be acting out of Christian values.

I believe that life is a series of lessons and that our quality of life is directly affected by our ability to accept the lessons, grow from them and move on until our next lesson. I belive that when we don't learn what we need we are constantly fighting the same battle until we do. To not learn is the same to me as existing while ceasing to live. I do not propose that I am always able to do this easily, and in fact I have been disappointed in myself more than once. So, when I say this to you know that I am not being reproachful. I believe you have a difficult life lesson to learn. The devil is very decptive - beware.

I used to think that you were loyal, but have discovered that to be untrue. A loyal person doesn't turn against someone just because they can't control his/her actions or his/her viewpoint. It seems as though you're ready to attack anyone that in the least slights you. They don't even have to have committed any slights you just perceive it to be so, so it is. You are like a snake poised for the strike at all times. By that I do not mean to imply that you are a snake. It means that in order to defend itself a snake is poised and ready to strike at any perceived threat, even when there isn't one. The result of that is very few people care to be around them. I think it is sad - it automatically creates a problem when there wasn't any.

I do not think it is necessary to pursue as close of a relationship with you as I have in the pst, I believe it to be emotionally dangerous. You are too ready to think the worst of others and too ready to attack. I do not need that kind of stress in my life. Of course you will be welcome at any family functions I give. In additions, if there is ever anyone in the family (including you) in need of something I can give, I will. I believe it is imperative to be there for loved ones in time of need. I do love you and wish you the best.

Susan
