Comments: Wes and Tom - I really loved your page. It was so open and honest. Well, the nose thing I could have skipped over but I liked the rest. You sound like really neat people. I usually read pages about leukemia and bone marrow transplants, but today I was in Yahoo and saw HIV and just clicked on it. Found your page and am really glad I did. Thanks for sharing. Kim

Comments: HI WES & TOM! I dunno how I ended up here today... but wow. I thought my family had problems! I spent about 3 hours reading and re-reading this stuff... you really need to write this into a book! And then there's the movie... ;-) I remember how I got there now... I was doing web maintenance on our site... I'm on the Board of Directors of Cheer Dallas, come visit our site: http://www.metronet.com/~gcole/cheerhm.htm Wes, Keep up the fight, babe. Look for the Cheer Dallas Cheerleaders in the Houston parade in june. We're there every year. Then look for me. Can't wait to meet you. Greg

Comments: Dear Wes and Tom,
Well, I came home from working all night, spent some time working on working on my webpages, then decided to click on my next site links in SmaQ Webring of which I am a member. I got as far as Kent's Home on the Net which led me to Steve Schalchlin's Survival Site and was drawn to your webpage. Needless to say I was captivated, entertained, pained, distraught, informed, and otherwise riveted by The Priscilla Files. I haven't gotten so emotionally involved in something like this since I carried on a 2 week email debate with the Rev. Phelp's grandson. I am 39 years old, shhhh. don't tell anyone :-), gay, enjoying my newfound freedom on the net (no stopping me now!). Thank you for a wonderful site. I would like to make a link to your page on mine, and I'm sure you won't mind! As a Christian, I hope the rift in your family heals. But do not let it burden you, in my heart as I am sure in your heart also, I know WE are right, God loves us all. Best wishes and much love to you both.
Pat

Comments:

Thank You , I sincerely hope the schism in your family can be resolved. I don't know what else to say 'cept it took a lot of courage to Air The Family Laundry in such a public fashion. I don't think I would have the guts to do the same where my family is concerned. (of course my family is not as literate as yours appears to be, nor, I am afraid, as intelligent).

I fervently hope the new drugs are helping and that your health has improved. There is another I have become acquainted with on the net, Steve Schlachlin, who has had tremendous success with one of the new drugs. E-mail me if you would like to have his url

Funny and delightful
Hey Wes, Liked your site. Was pulling up some research sites on gay men with AIDS for a fraternity brother of mine for his English class and suddenly, your site about the family rivalry became very interesting. Thank you!

Comments: Thank you Wes for talking about your friends who have died from AIDS. Earlier this year my cousin who was 27 also died from AIDS. We were very close and I was with him to the end. He also was a nice person with a horrible disease. It's just a pity the world at large can't recognise that - they are all good people with a bad disease. I wish Bob Dole and his cronies had been there at the end to see what HIV is like. Keep strong and have faith. regards John

Comments: When I started my Home page I thought there was NO ONE out there talking about life with HIV. So I made a page. Once I got it going I found more people. THANK GOD! I hope you don't mind, I've linked your page from mine. I've been reading the letters... I have been blessed with a truely supportive family. I am so glad you are able to calmly respond to such descrimination. To often I've seen people escalate the hate by Attacking back (I see it daily on the street corners with Fred Phelps. If people would just calmly state the facts and move on...). Thank you for being a calm rational voice in the face of hate. My best wishes to you both.

Comments: Spent three hours this morning reading the point/counterpoint. SOOOOO different from my family experience, but similar to other families I've heard about. I've been full-blown for over 11 years and still going strong, so don't plan on going anywhere unexpected anytime soon. Just make sure that you get stablized. Good luck!

Comments: Wes, the letters between you and your family are priceless, if exhausting. How about an edited paragraph or two with quotes that sorta sums the whole thing up? Doesn't matter. They're still fantastic. The best part is the letters asking you not to post the letters. I was LOL at that. I also think the two of you are a wonderful love story for our time. Trying to maintain family relations while being rebuffed by people afraid that if you come to a reunion, the kids will be exposed to fecal matter. FECAL MATTER?? It's all too much and too amusing. I think the fact that I am also from Texas and come from a fundie family makes it all too, too real. Please keep up the fight for freedom and love. And please let us know when the letter wars resume. It's the best soap opera on the net!

Well designed pages and, well, the choice of colours is simply divine ... not to mention my bent sense of humour and sinus trouble getting a workout as I read on.
